1. Time Documentation, March 01 - 09, 2015:

Day 00, Sunday March 01 afternoon, Travel to Vienna from Ramingstein / Tamsweg by train

Day 01, Monday March 02, morning, Travel to Vienna Airport VIE  - Check-in 12:00pm, Direct flight to Bejing / China

Day 03, Monday March 03, arrival Bejing PEK airport in the morning, domestic flight connection problems due to slow airport logistics, missing booked flight to Nanjang (Southern China Airlines), booking new flight on different airline (Eastern China) from domestic Bejing airport Nanyuan NNY at 19:30pm. Changing airports by taxi. Arrival Nanjang at new scheduled time ~ 9.00pm. Transfer by car (project team) to hotel in Xixia. Arrival in Xixia ~11:30pm.

Day 04,Tuesday March 04, start ~8:30am, site visit all day / walking: Entrance area, „drinking“ water retention, proposed settlement prototypes, base area, Mr Zhao Farm, Apricot Valley, Bamboo food forest, 3 Brothers Farm, Miss W. Gully. Return to hotel ~8pm.

Day 04, Wednesday March 05, start ~8:30am, site visit all day / walking: morning: Miss W. Gully, Meditation Gully, 3 Brothers Farm, Lunch with mayor of village, explanation local shiitake farming, afternoon: 10 acre water fall, 1/2 Immortal farm. Return to hotel ~8pm.

Day 05, Thursday March 06, start ~8:30am, site visit all day / walking: morning: project discussion, sharing necessary base knowledge such as explanation of water cycle, water retention principles, forest ecology, sustainable agriculture, agroecological principles, definition of first building phase with necessary detailed survey: Miss W. Gully with extension to 3 Brothers and 1/2 Immortal farms. afternoon: exploring catchment areas Miss W. Gully for potential water catchment and spring tapping. Return to hotel ~8pm.

Day 06, Friday March 07, start ~8:30am, protocolling and documenting proposed first building phases in detail all day: Miss W. Gully, 1/2 Immortal and 3 Brothers farm including steep new terraces. Return to hotel ~8pm.

Day 07, Saturday March 08, 8:30am; Transfer by car (project team) from hotel in Xixia to Nanjang airport. Arrival Bejing Nanyuan airport at 1pm, Transfer by taxi from Nanyuan NNY airport to Bejing International PEK airport. Booking hotel near PEK airport for scheduled travel commencement March 09, 5am, to Almaty / Kasachstan.


2. Detailed Documentation proposed 1st Building phase, March 07, 2015:

2.1: General notes:
- Structured and planned working procedure recommended, detailed survey for habitat areas absolutely necessary.
- No more earthworks before agreed masterplan. Good survey and plan absolutely needed in order to continue works.
- Finish areas in small sections.
- No starting of new building sites before finishing old ones.
- All important areas must have easy access (pathways, ponds and roads).
- Most earth works until now have been extremely destructive due to a lack of a plan, unstructured working procedures and insuffucient professional knowledge regarding ecologically sensitive areas and sites.
- This kind of working must be stopped immediately, the resulting damage should be repaired wherever possible.

2.2: Existing structures, valuable and sustainable cultural heritage:
- Existing Terraces ideal for water retention strategies and very valuable.
- Cut all trees and shrubs in terrace walls to protect terrace.
- Take care of existing terraces, underpin and refill structurally unsound areas immediately.
- No steep digging below existing terraces.
- No more destruction of agricultural, cultural and ecological valuable places, i.e existing terraces, orchards, gardens, etc.

2.3: Earthworks / road building / pond building, etc.:
- Levelling tool for all earth works essential! Professional site supervisor / project manager required to supervise all works.
- Many roads too steep; ideal inclination: no more than 10% (not more than 14% max.).
- Finish earth works BEFORE planting (especially trees).
- Minimising number of roads with logical and easy interconnections.
- All dumped soil and stones have to be removed from tree bases.
- Do not damage any trees with stones and excavator works; it might kill and destroy them.
- Use local rocks and gravel for flood water overflow and ford erosion protection wherever suitable and necessary.

2.4: Rubbish, waste and cleaning
- Remove all rubbish from site and dispose of properly; Separate all organic material: it can be composted and is valuable.
- Remove all stones from terraces, collect and reuse for building works.
- Save and value existing topsoil of terraces! Top soil is very precious, keep it, save it, value it.

2.5: Recultivation, Agriculture, Agro-Ecology and Agroforestry, etc.
- No planting of trees before finishing earthworks / finish terraces before planting.
- Sowing immediately suitable seeds (i.e.annual for terraces such as rye, perennial for slopes such as clover, grass, herbs, etc.) after all earth works; this will prevent weeds from taking over. IMPORTANT!
- Produce your own local seeds in future, buy now in the beginning.
- Prevent all open soil, cover with vegetation and / or mulch immediately after finishing works.
- Cleaned terraces: first year green manure, second year: vegetables possible.
- Plant trees in such a way that no wind corridors will appear (i.e. staggered), avoid geometric grids, plant in organic lines.
